Where are you located?

Our shop is on the 3rd floor of the historic McLain Building in downtown Wheeling, West Virginia.

Look for the big double glass doors on 12th Street, there’s an elevator and stairs inside to take you up!

Street parking is available, and the newly built parking garage is less than one block away for easy access.

What are your store hours?

We’re open:

  • Wednesday - Saturday: 11am – 7pm
  • Sunday: 11am – 4pm
  • Monday & Tuesday: Closed

Please note: Hours may vary during Record Store Day and other special events. We’ll post updates on our site and social media ahead of time.

Do you buy records?

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! We offer both digital and physical gift cards.

  • Digital gift cards are delivered by email and can be used right away.
  • Physical gift cards can be mailed to you or purchased in-store.

Orders

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

If your order hasn't shipped yet, we may be able to change or cancel it. Please contact us as soon as possible with your order number. Once an order is packed or shipped, we can't make changes.

How long does it take for my order to ship?

We usually ship orders within 1 to 3 business days after purchase confirmation. Pre-orders ship within 1 to 3 business days of their official release date.

During busy times like Record Store Day, RSD Black Friday, and December, processing may take 4 to 7 business days due to high order volume.

Curated Boxes and Discovery Boxes have a longer processing time. You can find estimated shipping timelines on each product page.

If your order includes pre-orders or items not yet in stock, we will hold your entire order until everything is available, unless you’ve made other arrangements with us.

I received the wrong item. What should I do?

Email us with your order number and a photo of what you received. We’ll fix the mix-up as quickly as possible.

What if my order arrives damaged?

We do our best to pack everything securely and carefully, but sometimes things happen in transit.

If your item arrives damaged, please contact us within 14 days of delivery. Be sure to include photos of the damage, the outer packaging, and the shipping label so we can assess the issue and figure out the next steps.

Minor cosmetic damage (like slight corner dings or seam splits) that happens in transit may not be eligible for a refund or replacement. These types of issues are unfortunately common when shipping vinyl, and we can't guarantee immunity from them.

Major damage (like cracked vinyl, warped records, or completely crushed sleeves) will be addressed promptly. We’ll work with you to find a solution, whether that’s a replacement, partial refund, or store credit.

Factory defects (like off-center pressing, skips, or noise on new sealed records) may be eligible for exchange or refund. We just ask that you send photos or videos so we can confirm the issue.

We are not responsible for damages reported after the 14-day window.

I haven’t received my order yet. How can I check the status?

You will get a tracking number once your order ships. If you haven’t received one or if tracking hasn’t updated in a while, reach out and we will help you look into it.

Can I add something to my order after it's been placed?

If we haven’t shipped your order yet, we can usually add items. Send us a message with the additional items and we’ll let you know how to proceed.

Can I return something if I change my mind?

We do not accept returns for buyer’s remorse.

If you no longer want an item after it arrives, we may be able to offer store credit on a case-by-case basis, but you must contact us within 14 days of delivery. The item must be unopened, unused, and in original condition. Return shipping is your responsibility.

We do not accept returns on:

*Used inventory
*Discounted or clearance items
*Record Store Day titles (RSD & RSD Black Friday)

All returns are subject to inspection before store credit is issued.

Can I combine multiple orders to save on shipping?

Yes, as long as none of the orders have shipped yet. Let us know the order numbers and we’ll combine them and credit any extra shipping.

Please note that We can't combine orders during Record Store Day or RSD Black Friday due to the high volume of orders and time-sensitive nature of those releases.

I pre-ordered something. When will it ship?

Pre-orders are shipped within 1 to 3 business days of the official release date. Please note that release dates are set by the label and are subject to change. Any updates to release dates can be found on the product page.

If your order includes other items, we will hold the entire order and ship everything together unless you’ve made separate arrangements with us.

What if my package is marked delivered but I didn’t receive it?

Sometimes tracking shows “delivered” before the package actually arrives. Please double-check with household members and neighbors, and if possible, ask your postal carrier if they remember where the package was left. If it still doesn’t turn up after 24 hours, reach out to us and we’ll help you figure out the next steps.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do! Shipping rates and delivery times vary depending on location. Any customs fees or import taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

Do you offer local pickup?

Yes, we do! Just select the local pickup option at checkout. We will send you an email when your order is ready.

What formats do you carry?

We sell all formats: vinyl, CDs, and cassettes. Availability varies, so check product listings or use the filters when browsing.

Can you get a title that’s not listed on the site?

Often, yes! We’re happy to try to track down specific titles, whether it's something that’s out now or coming soon.

Are your records, CDs and cassettes new or used?

Both. We carry new and pre-owned records, CDs and cassettes. Pre-owned items are graded according to Goldmine standards and described as clearly as possible.

Do you carry turntables or speakers?

Yes! We stock a selection of turntables, speakers, and other audio gear in-store, and we have access to a much larger catalog for special orders. These items are currently available for in-store pickup only. If you're interested in having one shipped, please reach out and we’ll go over the options with you.

Will you restock sold out items?

Sometimes. You can sign up for restock alerts on the product page (when available), or feel free to fill out our special order request form if you’re looking for something specific.

Booking & Services

How do I book a show at Nail City Record’s live stage?

Please email us at booking@nailcityrecord.com with your EPK, social links, and tour history if applicable.
