RSD 2026 Poster: Stereophonic Wheeling

We are proud to share with you our 2026 Record Store Day poster, designed by upcoming artist Ernest Houk, AKA Leftie Smudges.

Title: Stereophonic Wheeling
"A tribute to Nail City Record's iconic 1959 Wurlitzer 2300S and the magnetic pull of Record Store Day. Depicting the first high-capacity stereo jukebox adrift in the Ohio River, Stereophonic Wheeling blends the industrial soul of Wheeling with the tactile rush of a fresh stack of wax."

Get your hands on these limited edition 18x24 screen-printed posters by Upright Press, available in both Standard and Foil editions. We’ll also have exclusive stickers to match. Find them Saturday, April 18th, only at Nail City Record.

RSD FAQs

What is Record Store Day and RSD Black Friday?

Record Store Day is a worldwide event held twice a year to celebrate independent record stores like ours. The main event takes place in April, with a second event, Record Store Day Black Friday, held the day after Thanksgiving. Each event features hundreds of exclusive, limited-edition vinyl releases that are only available at participating independent shops.

Nail City Record is an RSD pledged store. We participate in both events and do our best to stock as many titles as we can. We also work to make the experience fair, fun, and organized for everyone who lines up to shop with us.

How does RSD / RSD Black Friday work at Nail City Record?

While small details can shift from one RSD or RSD Black Friday to the next, we have developed a tried-and-true system that works well for our shop and our community. Here’s how it usually goes:

  • The line can start outside at any time
  • Starting at 9:30am, one of our team members will begin handing out numbered tickets downstairs to the customers in line.
  • At 10am, we'll open the doors and start letting people in the shop.
  • RSD exclusive titles will be located in the listening lounge. Using the ticket system, shoppers will be allowed to enter the room in small groups and shop for 5-10 minutes.
  • After you finish shopping for RSD titles, you're welcome to continue shopping in the rest of the store.

Do you open early on Record Store Day?

Yes, we usually open an hour early, at 10am, to accommodate the line and the rush.

How early should I line up?

The best time to line up for Record Store Day can vary from year to year and from store to store.

While some fans may choose to camp out early in the morning or even overnight to secure their spot, others may arrive later in the day and still find the titles they're looking for.

Based on previous years, some fans start lining up as early as 11pm the night before, though most tend to arrive between 6-7am. The exact timing can vary each year, so it's always a bit of a surprise!

What releases will you have? Will you have a specific title?

We do our best to order most of the official Record Store Day titles that are made available to us. The best way to improve your chances of finding what you want at our store is to fill out our wishlist form, which we typically post within a few hours of the official release list being announced.

There is only a short window between the list being published and when we have to submit our order, so be sure to follow us on social media and sign up for our email newsletter so you don’t miss the announcement.

Even with careful planning, we don’t always receive everything we order. Some titles are produced in limited quantities or are subject to allocations, meaning we may receive fewer copies, or none at all, despite requesting them.

We usually learn what we are getting (and in what quantity) about two weeks before Record Store Day, though for some titles it’s not confirmed until the week of the event.

Our final list of confirmed releases will be posted on this page as soon as it’s available, closer to Record Store Day.

Can I pre-order or reserve items? Can I buy online?

We are sorry, but we can't hold any copies of RSD products for anyone as that would violate the pledge we signed with RSD.

However, any remaining releases will be available on our website, usually the following day at 8am EST.

All info about online ordering after RSD will be updated above.

Is there a limit on how many items I can buy?

Yes! All RSD / RSD Black Friday releases are limited to one copy per customer.
