Daft Punk is a French electronic music duo consisting of musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. Daft Punk reached significant popularity in the late 1990s house movement in France and met with continued success in the years following, combining elements of house with synth-pop.The duo's songs are considered essential in the French house scene.Alive 1997 is a live album recorded in Birmingham in November 1997. The album contains 45 minutes of non-stop live mixing, featuring Daft Punk's standard tracks ("Da Funk," "Rollin' & Scratchin'") along with those techno-electronic explosions unique to Daft Punk.
