We are proud to announce, for the first time ever, the release of the complete Vince Guaraldi soundtrack album for "You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown" (1972).
Just in time for the American elections, this soundtrack album is the perfect companion for your fall and voting needs. The 8th primetime Peanuts® special premiered on October 29, 1972 and has continued to air every year or stream for over five decades.
Swinging Dixieland jazz, beautiful underscoring, and Guaraldi singing for the first time on a Peanuts® special ("Joe Cool"), this album has it all plus nine never-before-heard bonus or alternate tracks. This album includes the complete score to the animated special written and created by Charles Schulz, directed by Bill Melendez and produced by Melendez and Lee Mendelson. The bonus tracks have never been heard since their recording in San Francisco in 1972.
This beloved special's soundtrack can help you get in the mood to vote, and you will be patriotic in the knowledge that you have purchased an ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE product. Featuring: Vince Guaraldi on Piano, Electric Piano, Vocals and Guitar; Seward McCain on Bass and Flute; Tom Harrell on Trumpet; Glenn Cronkhite on Drums; Mel Martin on Woodwinds; and Pat O'Hara on Trombone.
The album was restored and mastered by Vinson Hudson, and produced by Sean Mendelson and Jason Mendelson. Includes Liner Notes by (Guaraldi biographer) Derrick Bang and Sean Mendelson (son of Peanuts® producer Lee Mendelson) and art from the specials, and photographs of some of the players on a 4-page insert.
